As Hyper-V being the biggest fuzz in the Virtualization solutions today, thanks to the Microsoft marketing forces. They can generate the biggest noise about each product they produce. As a lot of people hearing the fuzz, but did not have the chance to discover Hyper-V, I have decided I will discover it and take every one with me in a Hyper-V Tour with explanation and snapshots. Intro: Introduction to Microsoft Windows 2008 Hyper-V RTM & Our Discovery Trip:

Hyper-V RTM has just been released by Microsoft Less than 10 days ago. Its Microsoft latest virtualization product. Microsoft are distributing Hyper-V as apart of their Windows 2008 Operating System. In this article, I will take you in a tour around the product & how to use it. I will show how to install, configure, and use Hyper-V step-by-step and with snapshots.

Please note this tour is not going to cover Hyper-V architecture as that is out of the scope of this tour. For a good video of Hyper-V architecture you might want to look at MS Hyper-V architecture Explanation by IBM. In the other hand, if you are one of the people who like to see how a product look like in practice before you buy it or even obtain it, then this tour is for you.

I will do my best to show the full steps of Hyper-V installation. In addition, I will even try to show as much as possible of all the menus that you have in Hyper-V and explain each of them a piece by piece.
Although this tour is very simple & any one can follow it. A good understanding of Virtualization can highly help. A quick understanding of Hyper-V architecture can help as well. The video pointed to in the previous paragraph is highly recommended if you really care about Hyper-V architecture.
